Lightning-ready capabilities

By adding the Conga Document Generation Lightning component to any page in Salesforce, you can generate documents directly from that record. Composer’s Lightning-ready capabilities improve productivity by eliminating the need to jump from page to page or toggle between tabs. 

Conga Quick Start 

The Quick Start feature is a great place to get started with Conga Composer. It includes four pre-built solutions to help you understand how Composer works in the Salesforce environment: 

Simply select one of these four options to preview a template. The settings are pre-selected, so all you have to do is click ‘Merge & Download’ to populate the template with some high-level information about your account.  

Template Builder 

The Template Builder makes it easy to build and customize business templates in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF format. When you open the Template Builder, you’ll see a list of available records and fields. To add a field to a template, just select it from the list and drag it into the template panel. 

Query Builder 

Conga Queries lets you dynamically pull data from the relevant Salesforce records and use it to build a document —without writing code. From the Query Builder, select the fields you want to populate in your template document. When you run the query, data will be pulled from Salesforce and inserted into your document. It’s also possible to query data from external sources like your ERP or accounting system. 

Document Automation Wizard 

The Document Automation Wizard brings all these elements together, allowing you to create custom document automation processes quickly and easily. Simply add your template, select Conga Queries to pull data into the template, and assign the appropriate behavior parameters (e.g., save to PDF, attach to files, etc.). The Document Automation Wizard will guide you through the entire process.  

Embedded document generation 

Conga Composer also allows admins to directly embed document generation workflows into websites, portals, and applications, through the use of APIs. These APIs pull data directly from Salesforce (or other sources) to instantly populate document templates. This capability enables admins to automate document generation, accelerate workflows, and provide a more self-service user experience. 

Conga Batch 

Conga Batch lets you send multiple documents simultaneously from a grid-style interface. Sends can be scheduled for a future data and time—for example, scheduling payment reminders for outstanding invoices.  

Conga Trigger 

Conga Trigger connects Composer directly to your Salesforce workflows. When specific conditions are met, this tool will automatically trigger the document generation process—for example, generating final paperwork when an opportunity is marked as Closed Won.
