ServiceNow CPQ vs Conga CPQ FAQs

  • The biggest difference is scope. ServiceNow CPQ is part of ServiceNow's broader sales and order management strategy, primarily built to bring commercial operations onto the ServiceNow platform. Conga is a revenue lifecycle platform that connects CPQ, contract management, and document automation on a shared data model. It runs in Salesforce and integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and other CRMs, which lets organizations improve quoting and contracting without moving to a new platform.

  • ServiceNow CPQ focuses on configuration, pricing, and quoting. ServiceNow manages post-sale service contracts and entitlements in Sales and Order Management, and contract management is available through Contract Management Pro, a separate ServiceNow product. Billing requires a separate solution. Conga connects CPQ and CLM on one data model, carrying quoted pricing and terms directly into contracts and renewals.

  • ServiceNow CPQ does not include a built-in document generator. Quote PDFs in ServiceNow Sales and Order Management are produced through a separate Document Templates plugin, using HTML templates. Conga generates quotes, proposals, contracts, statements of work, and renewal notices in Word, PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint, using templates with conditional logic that pull data from CRM, CPQ, and CLM.

  • While ServiceNow CPQ can associate sales agreements with price lists, key capabilities such as derived pricing and price or quantity ramps are not available on sales agreement quote types. Conga applies its full pricing toolkit to sales agreements, including ramp pricing, volume discounts, attribute-based adjustments, and derived pricing, and connects those terms to executed contracts through CLM.

  • ServiceNow CPQ shows sold products and order lines for mid-term changes, but it does not support those changes on ramped sold products. Conga supports full MACD (move, add, change, delete) operations. Sales and renewal teams can process upgrades, downgrades, add-ons, and cancellations from asset records in both quote and order management, without building a new quote.

  • Conga was named a Leader in the Nucleus Research 2025 CPQ Technology Value Matrix and a Leader in the IDC MarketScape for Worldwide CPQ Applications for Commerce 2024–2025. In the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPQ Applications, PROS, now part of Conga, was named a Leader. ServiceNow CPQ does not appear in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant or the Nucleus Research 2025 Value Matrix

  • Yes. Conga CPQ runs natively in Salesforce, keeping quotes, pricing, and approvals in the CRM your sales teams already use. Organizations with deep Salesforce investments can manage complex pricing, contracts, and documents without adopting a separate commercial platform, which makes Conga a strong CPQ platform for Salesforce customers.
