Tackling the blindside of CLM - insight from the rugby pitch with Toby Flood

In January, in partnership with SYKE, we hosted an insightful and out-of-the-ordinary exclusive networking event with an impressive lineup of speakers. 

• Toby Flood ( Ex-rugby athlete who represented England 60 times, playing in 2 World Cup tournaments, played in the final in 2007, and won a Six Nations title in 2011. and now Account Executive at Conga) 
• Roisín Cregan (Senior Associate in the Commercial Team at Onside Law. Who has extensive experience advising sports organizations and individuals on various legal and governance issues, including sponsorships, live events, and player welfare issues.)
• Jonny Badrock ( Senior VP & Chief Legal Engineer at SYKE, who is an expert in delivering and leading legal innovation and automation projects, having previously shown the innovation function at global law firm DWF)

The speakers explored the parallels between CLM and sport and brought the story to life around obligations in sports contracts and the impact that has on those involved. They covered transfer deadline day, sponsorship agreements (and how not to breach them!) and even NDAs for footballer's housekeepers!
