Reflecting on Dreamforce 2018

With the dust finally settled from the excitement of Dreamforce 2018, we sat down to recap our week in San Francisco. We joined the more than 170,000 Trailblazers for four days of learning, networking and innovation alongside Salesforce and other tech leaders. Conga was a Gold Sponsor of this year’s event, with a booth in the Customer Success Expo as well as the Sales Lodge. Our booth teams spent the week sharing details of Conga’s end-to-end digital document transformation suite.


Perhaps our most exciting Dreamforce moment took place during the CPQ & Billing Keynote on Wednesday, Sept. 26. In the presentation, Salesforce CPQ announced two brand new Conga products: Conga Quote Generation and Conga Invoice Generation! Both products will be sold and delivered directly by Salesforce—a rare occurrence, as Salesforce traditionally sells only its own products. Conga grateful for our strong, strategic partnership with Salesforce, and is thrilled to have our own custom products resold by Salesforce in the document generation space! Conga also announced some key executive new hires heading into the conference, including a chief revenue officer and managing director, EMEA. Both new additions attended Dreamforce to meet and speak with customers and partners. Steve De Marco brings 25 years of experience in software sales to his role of chief revenue officer, including a 12-year stint at Xactly, a major Salesforce ecosystem partner. Matt Tuson joins as managing director, EMEA, with 25 years of experience working with cloud technology companies, including New Voice Media and Salesforce EMEA.


Over the course of the four days, Conga participated in a number of breakout sessions across the Moscone campus. VP of Product Marketing Will Spendlove presented on back-to-back days, speaking on the topic of transforming documents and contracts on Salesforce. The line for Will’s Tuesday session was so long, people were actually turned away because the room reached capacity! Another large crowd gathered around for his session in the Customer Success Expo on Wednesday. For the second year in a row, Conga also hosted VIP helicopter tours. The helicopter adventures flew the lucky Conga VIPs above the San Francisco skyline, offering breathtaking views of famous landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.

Conga Connect West & The Digital Transformation Wonderland

Conga set up headquarters once again at the ThirstyBear Brewing Company, just one block from Moscone. Conga transformed the brewery into Conga Connect West, its exclusive customer and partner experience. Attendees joined Conga at the ThirstyBear for meetings with Conga experts and executives, detailed demos of the digital document transformation suite, solution sessions to work out specific Conga solutions with members of the professional services team, and free food and drinks prepared by the ThirstyBear staff. In three days, Connect West hosted over 140 meetings, and over 100 solution sessions! This year, Conga hosted theCUBE on Tuesday at Conga Connect West. Jeff Frick interviewed Conga experts, customers and analysts, and recorded the fantastic discussions! On Thursday, Conga hosted a fireside chat with Jitterbit, makepositive, and Salesforce to discuss the future of CPQ and billing. Stay tuned for the upcoming webinar with the same panel! Dreamforce 2018 introduced the first-ever Digital Transformation Wonderland. Just behind the ThirstyBear, Conga set up a big top tent where guests could play carnival games operated by sponsors Simplus, OwnBackup, Salesforce CPQ and Hustle; unwind with a free massage in the relaxation lounge; refuel with free food and drinks; and enjoy daily performances by spectacular entertainers! On Tuesday, Conga brought back its popular Silent Disco. This year, the party featured three DJs spinning three different types of music, so everyone could find something to groove to! The ThirstyBear was packed all night, providing discoers with plenty of snacks and beverages to keep them dancing! Wednesday night brought the highly-anticipated Beats Antique Takeover Party. Guests were encouraged to come ready to transform what they thought they knew about music, and Beats delivered with an unforgettable visual spectacle! Thanks to the nearly 2,000 guests who attended our fabulous parties this year!

Transforming the Future

We were blown away by the success of this year’s Dreamforce experience. It was exhilarating to meet so many bright minds and discuss the future of business in this age of digital transformation.
